Hassfurt
The under eighteen meet in Schweinfurt was this year staged in Hassfurt. Because of the Tunisean football team claiming all the sport facilities in the small Bavarian town the competition was moved to nearby Hassfurt. More than 400 competitors competed on this sunny 26th June.
Mustafa Abdul Manaam Bhaket.,the big shot putter in the throws squad from Andres Charadia was in fine form. Four times over 14 metres and three times a personal best! Charadia: “ When you are young you must learn how to improve. When you do this in a competition like Mustafa did, you have future in athletics”. In the last attempt Mustafa improved his personal best to 14.55 and landed the lowest step of the podium: bronze.

Personal bests
High jumper Almannai improved he personal record to a 1.91m. His coach Gerard Lenting was not totally satisfied: “ Salman proved with very high jumps that he is on his way to jump close to two meters. With his new run up it is still difficult for him to get the timing right”, explained Lenting.
The Dutch born coach was more than pleased with the performance of his squad which scored more than 50% personal bests out of 10 performances. Mohamed Eid Moftah Alkwari was one of them with two nice improvements. Again a record in the four hundred meter: 51”92 and three hours later in the two hundred meters 23”67seconds.

The middle distance boys also scored personal bests in their races. Abdullah Ismail Hamed Khalifa
clocked the fastest time of the Aspire Athletics over eight hundred meters with 2’01”25 while Abobaker Omar Alhaj Madebo got: 2’05”40. The oldest athlete in the squad of Jamal Abdulla, Mohamed Salih Idris Adem, ran a 3 kilometer race. Mohammed Salih ran a superb race, finishing strong, but just outside the time needed for a podium sport: 8 minutes 56”57 seconds.
Moath Hussein Almasri showed again his multiple talents. He ran in the high hurdles final (15”99) and also placed himself with a magnificent jump 5m 85 cm (pb) in the long jump final. In a special race over 100m for the Aspire mini cadets, Eid Abdullah Alkwari broke the 13 seconds barrier: 12.90 seconds. Head coach Ralf Iwan was more than pleased: “Overall we did very well and some individual athletes did even better. Getting a medal in this strong field proves we are on the right track with our program. Hopefully we can also pick up some medal spots in the next weeks when we are competing in Sweden” he said after the junior gala in Hassfurt.
The Aspire Athletics squad flies on Wednesday to Sweden to compete in a three day competition in Helsinforg.
