94th
Saudi citizens and residents will get to enjoy a long weekend this month commemorating the Kingdom’s 94th Saudi National Day holiday.
Marked annually on September 23, the holiday commemorates the unification of the Kingdoms of Najd and Hijaz by King Abdulaziz in 1932.
This year’s occasion will fall on a Monday and with a Friday-Saturday weekend in the Kingdom, some employees will enjoy an extended holiday with Sunday September 22 off as well.
Students, according to the education ministry’s academic calendar, will also be given Sunday September 22 as a day off for the occasion. Several events, performances and Air Force shows are expected to be held across the country to celebrate the occasion.
The theme of this year’s National Day is ‘We Dream, We Achieve,’ which has been carried over from last year’s slogan. According to the GEA, the theme reflects the transformative journey that the Kingdom is undertaking and its march toward implementing its Vision 2030 projects.
GL zoals gebruikelijk was het weer lang onduidelijk of de zondag wel vrij was officieel. uiteindelijk hadden de meeste expats al een lang weekend gepland door op donderdagavond te vertrekken en pas maandagavond terug te keren...
