Edgar Davids heeft woensdag de UEFA Pro Licence behaald, het hoogste trainerscertificaat van de Europese voetbalbond. Hij kan daardoor internationaal als hoofdtrainer aan de slag.
Davids (44), die een aangepast traject volgde, maakt op social media melding van het behalen van zijn trainersdiploma. De voormalige middenvelder liep tijdens de opleiding stage bij Ajax, FC Twente, Al-Ahli en Telstar.

Goed gedaan van Davids.
Eigen weg gekozen, na een kort periode in het Verenigd Koninkrijk aan de slag te zijn geweest.
Kost wat, slordige 10.000 euri maar dat is altijd nog de helft goedkoper dan bij de KNVB

De studiebelasting van de opleiding bij de KNVB voor UEFA PRO is als volgt:

  -  Startbijeenkomst
  -  Intervisie
  -  Bijeenkomsten
  -  Eigen invulling leertraject
  -  Toetsing
  -  Totaal= Ca. 360 uur €20.600,- .Dit is exclusief inschrijfgeld €250,- leermiddelen, en reiskosten. Bij inschrijving verklaar je dat bij toelating tot de opleiding het opleidingsgeld in twee termijnen automatisch kan worden geïncasseerd. Als het cursusgeld niet door jou wordt betaald maar door een derde, moet de KNVB Academie hier een schriftelijke verklaring voor ontvangen. 

En, dan kun je niet zo maar meedoen..... zelfs niet als een Davids.

Course pre-requisites
Applicants must hold a current FA Level 4 (UEFA A) in Coaching Football, with priority given to applicants holding the English FA Award
All applicants must have experience in the professional game as a player (minimum five years' experience), player coach, coach, assistant manager, manager, academy manager or technical director
Valid FA Advanced Youth Award is desirable

The FA Level 5 (UEFA Pro) is the mandatory qualification for all first team managers who wish to work in the Premier League.

The course is designed to prepare managers and coaches to work at the elite level of the game in a managerial capacity. (International, Premier League, Football League and the FA Women’s Super League). The course has been designed using a competency based approach and will be delivered in a number of modules over an 18 month period, combining distance learning and club visits to support and enhance the learning. The content will be a mixture of theory and practical based delivery using the latest technology and facilities at St. George’s Park.
