DOHA • Heralding summer months, date palms along the pavements of Doha have bloomed; the palms that had undergone early pollination have even come out with inflorescence and tender dates.
Dates will ripen with temperatures touching their highest peak, coinciding with the inclement North-Easterly wind that would unleash during July-September period. The flowering of date palms varies from region to region. However, in Qatar, it happens during March-April months, when the weather gets warmer.
Qatar has been witnessing a gradual rise in the temperature these days. The last one week's daily forecast by the department of Meteorology has indicated a spurt in the maximum temperature.
The department of meteorology forecast a maximum temperature of 38-degree Celsius today. This is against the 28-degree Celsius forecast on Wednesday.
