Doha, January 8, 2008, - H.H. the Emir, Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa al Thani issued on Monday Emiri decision No 1 for 2008 stipulating establishment of a public corporation under the name " Aspire Zone " to be under H.H. the Heir Apparent and be seated in Doha , with a juristic person status and an independent budget drawn according to commercial standards.
The decision defined the goals, functions, departments and financial system of the corporation.According to the decision, Aspire Zone will have a president and deputy president appointed by an Emiri decision.
The decision annuls every contradicting rule while allowing current decisions and regulations not contradicting it be maintained till the bylaws of the corporation are approved.The Emiri decision is to be implemented from the date of its issue and be published in the gazette.
