nationaliteiten
er zijn nogal wat nationaliteiten in Qatar.
zeg dat er grofweg 900.000 mensen in Qatar leven dan zijn nog geen 200.000 echte Qatari. Blijft over 700.000. Een groot deel daarvan is ongeschoold. Die komen dus uit de lage lonen landen in de regio. Veel uit Nepal.
Daarom het stukje uit de krant van vandaag.
Ontluisterend als je het mij vraagt.
...........At least 153 Nepalis died in Qatar in 2007, according to the Nepalese embassy yesterday.
An embassy official said there were 15 more deaths last year compared with 2006 figures.
He said some more cases were pending before the mission and they had not been documented until yesterday. “So the number for 2007 could change slightly.”
The latest death officially reported to the embassy took place on December 24.
The embassy spokesman said 96 (63%) of the deaths reported until December 24 were due to heart attacks or other heart-related ailments.
In 2006, 68 deaths (which were less than 50% of the total figure) were due to heart problems, the embassy sources said.
There was a sharp fall in the number of deaths from road accidents among Nepalese community members. While 37 people died in road accidents in 2006, the number came down to 22 last year, the figures revealed.
The number of deaths at worksites was put at 25 in 2007, majority of them were on account of the falling from heights. In 2006, there were 23 such deaths of which only nine were on account of fall from heights, an embassy report published in early January last year had said.
As in the previous year, there were six cases of suicides by hanging in 2007. The mission has also reported four drowning deaths in 2007........
