zoals het er nu uitziet gaat salman mee doen aan de asian indoor athletics in februari. en wel in onze eigen Aspire Dome. een geweldige ervaring en een kans om goed te presteren in een kampioenschap in eigen huis.
de directe voorbereidingen zijn in volle gang en volgende week, als de tentamens voorbij zijn, op weg naar drie weken lekker trainen onder de Australische zon.

Doha, January 9, 2008 (Jamal Mohammed Ahamed) – Mr Dahlan Al Hamad, President of Qatar Association of Athletic Federation (QAAF) and Chairman of the Higher Organising Committee of the 2nd Asian Indoor Championship reviewed the preparation and arrangements done by the committees.
Attending a meeting on Tuesday at the QAAF headquarters (QOC) the President referred to the major disciplines the Organising Committee needs to work.
The championship will be staged on February 14-16, 2008 at Aspire, the Academy for Sports Excellence.
Mr. Khalid Al Mir, QAAF vice – president and deputy chairman of higher organizing committee, Mr Abdullah Al Zeini, QAAF secretary general and chairman of financial committee and Dr. Abdulljabar, QAAF Technical secretary, alongside heads of championship committees were present during the meeting. The meeting dealt with preparation and requirements needed for the steering committees, with objective of achieving success and reflecting honourable view of the State of Qatar.
The officials also discussed details of the opening ceremony and recommended that to be taken from Qatar local culture, as well as the meeting called for the enormous importance of fans attendance in these competitions.
