RIYADH: Saudi Arabia has signed deals with the US worth more than $300 billion, Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman said at the Saudi-US Investment Forum in Riyadh on Tuesday. 

During an address at the event, Prince Mohammed said the Kingdom was looking at $600 billion of investment opportunities, adding that he hoped this would raise to $1 trillion.

US direct investments in Saudi Arabia reached approximately $15.3 billion in 2024, with 28 factories owned by American investors in partnership with Saudi investors located in the Saudi Authority for Industrial Cities and Technology Zones. Additionally, there are US investments in the Royal Commission cities of Jubail and Yanbu, including a $78 billion investment in Sadara Chemical Company in Jubail, a $22.5 billion investment in the Saudi Polymers Company, and a $19.6 billion investment in the Jubail Petrochemical Company (KEMYA).

GL: Trump heeft het de afgelopen uren druk gehad. Eerst de deal met MBS/KSA, daarna Midden-Oosten overleg met de GCC-landen nadat hij eerder in de Saoedische hoofdstad had gesproken met de nieuwe Syrische president Ahmed al-Sharaa om de sancties tegen diens land op te heffen. Het gaat Trump om zakelijke deals (zijn eigen Trump towers) , veiligheidsgaranties (stationering troepen enz), de olieprijs (en de handel met China hieromtrent) , de situatie in Gaza (want hij wil een twee staten beleid zien)... Nu is hij op weg naar de UAE en Qatar. De golfbeweging in de relatie tussen USA en KSA zit op een hoge golf en planeert met grote economische snelheid naar de nabije toekomst. Israel lijkt buitengesloten en China even geparkeerd.
