Scat cat

Jazz musicians call each other cat as a sign of 'respect'. No one knows how it really started, but we think it is because jazz musicians are out late at night, like cats.

Originating in vocal jazz, scat singing or scatting is vocal improvisation with wordless vocables, nonsense syllables or ....no words at all.
