What we know on Iranian attack on US base in Qatar
- Iran had vowed to attack the US bases and the military personnel in the Middle East after Washington hit its nuclear sites on Sunday.
- The US and UK embassies in Qatar had earlier released statements recommending citizens in Qatar to shelter in place until further notice.
- Qatar said it shut down its airspace temporarily as part of the measures taken to ensure the safety of residents and visitors.
- Flares were seen over Doha as missile defence systems of al-Udeid airbase were apparently seen launching into the sky.
- Loud explosions were heard all around the capital.

ik denk terug aan de Golf oorlog als ik de beelden op Al Jazeera zie. Zij hebben een hoofdkantoor in Doha en ik zie Villago waar mensen naar buiten vluchten als de grond trilt van inslagen.
Ik stuur een bericht naar C. die in Doha woont. Ze was buitenshuis maar geen schade. Wel grote schrik en onzekerheid. Ook dicht bij in het Aspire park kwam debris raket neer.

de grote basis van de VS 10K personeel ( een van de grootste in west Azië) in Qatar ligt ten zuid westen van de hoofdstad Doha. Is verlaten van rollend en vliegend materieel.

...The State of Qatar pointed out that it was among the first countries to warn of the consequences of Israeli escalation in the region, calling for a priority of diplomatic solutions, adhering to the principles of good neighborliness and non-escalation, and affirming that dialogue is the only way to overcome current crises and preserve the security of the region and the safety of its people.
