nieuwe kalender 2007 motor GP start in doha
Doha • According to the provisional MotoGP calendar made available here, Doha will be the first stopover in the 2007 season.
Nasser bin Khalifa Al Attiyah, the president of the Qatar Motor and Motorcycle Federation (QMMF), said Losail Interntaional Circuit will be abuzz with bike activity in March till the end of first round of the 2007 MotoGP Championship.
“Since we are staging the first round of MotoGP Championship, we will see hectic sessions of team testing prior to the race to be held here in March next year,” Al Attiyah said yesterday.
“Normally teams arrive at a venue a few days before the race. That won’t be the case this time because Doha is the first race of the season on the MotoGP calendar. So we will see teams testing their bikes and tyres with a lot of excitement. We are very happy to be in a position where the world be focussing on Losail International Circuit,” Al Attiyah said.
