Powerade at SACu23

Next Wednesday the Brazilian national team for athletics will travel to Uruguay for the South American under 23 years championships. Today was the last real training session for two Powerade athletes because the will be part of this. Travelling to Montevideo are Bruna Jessica and Karen Lopes.

With the Troféu Brasil Caixa (9 till October 12th in São Paulo) still to come the final stage of the season is approaching rapidly. “This competition is one of the highlights for our team this year”, said Gerard Lenting head coach for the Powerade team. “ We are proud to have a coach (Renan Valdier) and two athletes in the national team this time. Individual results will count more for us, but for sure Bruna and Karen can take points for Brazil. With this year ranking in mind both can come home with a medal” he added.

Twelve countries will be participating at the Darwin Piñeyrúa track, in the middle of the Parque Batlle, in The Uruguayan capital Montevideo. Brazil sends a big team with 81 athletes (42 men and 39 women). The completion starts on Friday (for Powerade > 100m Bruna) and runs the whole weekend (for Powerade > heptathlon for Karen and 200+ relay for Bruna).
