Als je tijdens de maanden voor kerst de radio aanzet of door de winkelstraten of in winkelcentra loopt, dan hoor je steevast bekende kerstliedjes zoals 'Jingle Bells' en 'All I Want for Christmas'. Dat verschijnsel is niet nieuw maar daarom niet minder irritant. Dus al in begin November George Michael in de slee of nog erger Chris Rea. De eindeloze reeks van herhaling van kerstmuziek leidt er toe dat ze rond de Kerst echt niet meer aan te horen zijn. In Qatar zorgden de Filipino’s al voor vroege kerstsfeer. En ook hier in Brazilie waren ze er met de versieringen en de muziekjes (te) vroeg bij. Starbucks heeft in ieder geval eigen CD’s met wat alternatieve uitvoeringen. Ook veel te vroeg, eerste week november, maar toch; het klinkt anders. Starbucks is offering its own collection of music for the holiday season this year.
