Bolt

 Er is een beeld onthuld van Usain Bolt.

De pose is zeer herkenbaar, de atleet zelf is lastiger te herkennen lijkt mij. het staat in Miramar, een stadje wat is opgesloten in groot Miami (Florida/USA). Miramar herbergt een van de grootste populaties van Jamaicanen buiten het eiland in de Cariben.

Het beeldhouwwerk werd onthuld op het Ansin Sports Complex is gemaakt door  Basil Barrington Watson. Hij maakte eerder een beeld van Martin Luther King Jr. in Atlanta. 

"I am so proud to be spearheading the erection of this statue in honor of the greatest sprinter of all time, Usain Bolt, in our city of Miramar. The world has not known a faster athlete and it's our honor to have the first monument for our Art in Public Places initiative installed at the Ansin Sports Complex. This statue will serve as a constant reminder to all aspiring athletes that 'Anything is Possible, No Limits' as quoted by the man Usain, himself," stated Vice Mayor Alexandra P. Davis.  

Ik zag in 2002 Bolt voor het eerst: op Jamaica! Bij het WJK waar ik hoofdcoach was voor het eerst. Een lange slungel die met een typische cadans sprintte. Won de 200 meter als 15 jarige met 20"61.....Daarna liep hij, voor het dolenthousiaste publiek dat bijna van de tribunes puilde,  bij de estafettes twee keer naar zilver 39.15 s en  3:04.06
