Het Qingmingfestival is een traditionele Chinese feestdag. Dat had ik snel opgezocht omdat het in de agenda stond. Toevallig met mijn verjaardag 4 april. Qingming is in de Volksrepubliek China sinds 2008 een officiële vrije dag. Dat komt mooi uit.

Traditioneel worden op deze dag de graven van de voorouders bezocht en onderhouden.

Het Qingmingfestival wordt gevierd op de honderdenvijfde dag na de winterzonnewende. Net als mijn verjaardag is het vaak de tijd rond Pasen.
