COPENHAGEN, October 02, 2009 - H.H. the Heir Apparent Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad Al Thani, who is also the Chairman of the Qatar Olympic Committee (QOC) and member of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) arrived Thursday in the Denmark Capital of Copenhagen to attend 121st meeting of the International Olympic Committee (IOC), and 13th Olympic Congress, due to open today and lasts for nine days. The events are the highest profiled sports congresses in the world to take place in Copenhagen and during nine days the city will be filled with sports and cultural events like the CountDown, which takes place at City Hall square.

The highlight will be October 2, when the 2016 host city of the Olympic Games will be announced. One of the four candidate cities - Chicago, Tokyo, Rio de Janeiro or Madrid will be crowned winner. A number of the world''s leaders will be attending the event including US President Barak Obama, Brazilian President, King Juan Carlos of Spain and Japanese Prime Minister. The 13th Olympic Congress is set to discuss the current and future affairs of the Olympic movement
