Rodízio veicular

São Paulo is a real big city. Takes hours to cross it. Even without traffic it takes some time to cross from one side to the other. There are more than 6 million vehicles in 2007 reported. Sao Paulo is the largest metropolis in the world and it Rodizio veicular in 1996. This is a travel restriction to mitigate air pollution and to relief the massive traffic congestion. It is a rotation system for cars in short.
Yesterday may driver these days, one of the coaches from the local track club, could not pick me up because it was his turn in the rodizio.
On some days of the week cars with a license number ending with a certain digit are not alowed to drive. This is whole year around except the summer vacation time.
Monday: 1 and 2, Tuesday 3 and 4 (and the coach his number ends with a 3 digit) Wednesday 5 and 6 Thursday 7 and 8 and Friday the last two numbers: 9 e 0. In the weekend no car rotation but than the taxi charge more and like I found out last Sunday for some trips put a 20% on top of this. Yes traffic in SP-city is a bitch.
