De Servische tennisster Novak Djokovic heeft zaterdag uit boosheid openheid van zaken gegeven door het tonen van 't resultaat van zijn MRI-scan op (Twitter) X gezet. 

Dat deed Djokovic in reactie op geruchten en opmerkingen op X dat hij veel te makkelijk zou hebben opgegeven in de halve finales van de Australian Open.....

As of January 25, 2025, Madison Keys is the only woman to have won the Australian Open by defeating four top-10 players in a single tournament. In her remarkable 2025 Australian Open campaign, Keys secured her first Grand Slam title with the following victories:

• Third Round: Danielle Collins (World No. 10)

• Fourth Round: Elena Rybakina (World No. 6)

• Semifinals: Iga Świątek (World No. 2)

• Final: Aryna Sabalenka (World No. 1)


This achievement makes Keys the first woman since 2005 to defeat both the World No. 1 and No. 2 players en route to an Australian Open title. 

Prior to this, no female player had accomplished the feat of defeating four top-10 opponents to win the Australian Open. 

Several women have won the Australian Open by defeating three top-10 players during their title run. Here are notable instances:


Serena Williams. Serena won the 2005 Australian Open by defeating three top-10 players:

• Quarterfinals: Amélie Mauresmo (World No. 2)

• Semifinals: Maria Sharapova (World No. 4)

• Final: Lindsay Davenport (World No. 1)


Monica Seles Monica Seles secured her 1996 title with victories over three top-10 opponents:

• Quarterfinals: Gabriela Sabatini (World No. 5)

• Semifinals: Conchita Martínez (World No. 4)

• Final: Arantxa Sānnchez Vicario (World No. 3)
