quarto dia Troféu Brasil Caixa de Atletismo 2015

Proud!

On the last day dia Troféu Brasil Caixa de Atletismo 2015 in Sao Bernardo it was high hurdles and long hurdles on the program for Powerade team. First of was Dandadeua Asteria de Souza Brites da Silva for a full lap with ten hurdles. Danda went of of like she did in the semi's and got it right up till hurdle five where she changed lead leg for the first time. This change cost her some time but she came into the home straight together with three athletes battling for two medal spots since the front runner was too far away. It was a close finish but Danda had to settle for fourth place. A big improvement since last year and a personal best by more than one (sic!) second: 58"63.

Gabriel Oliveira Constantino had a wonderful season so far with lowering his personal best times over  100 and 200 meters in the USA. The speed is there no it is a matter of time to work on frequency and rhythm to master the high hurldes. Into a head wind (-1.4) Gabriel won the bronze medal after coming a bit slow out of the blocks. The first medal for him this year and the first ever medal for Powerade team in  the Troféu Brasil.

Head coach Gerard Lenting was pleased with the four days in Sao Bernardo do Campo. "I think it is good to have this competition around in different places in Brazil and not just Sao Paulo. The local organizer did a good job together with the CBAT on this fantastic venue and beautiful training site. We were here with four athletes and all did good. We had improvements compared to last year's performance, personal bests and a medal. We are on the right track in this long term development project with Powerade team. The results show it and the athletes prove it. We need now some more competitions in different settings and other level of competitions as well to make the next step. Therefore we are going to compete in Europe next month".
