Qatar finished creditable third place in the men’s 100m relay at the Athletics Super Grand Prix in the Swedish capital Stockholm yesterday.Qatari sprinters Saad al-Shahwani, Samuel Francis, Areef Ibrahim Badar and Abdull al-Waleed clocked 39.51sec, shaving more than a tenth of a second off their previous best 39.64sec at the Asian Athletics Championships last month. But they failed to finish at 39 seconds or better that they needed to qualify for the World Championships taking place in Osaka later this month. International team took the top honours in the race with a time of 39.22sec with the Netherlands (gl: beck, hoogmoed, heisen,spier)crossing the tape in 39.34sec for second place.
