One person died and 29 were missing as a Dubai-based supply vessel capsized off the Qatari coast yesterday. Five persons, including the captain, were rescued.
The vessel with 35 people onboard reportedly went down near Doha Channel, 10 nautical miles off the coast of Doha, around 6.30am.
The search operations were continuing till the time of going to press. While bad weather is suspected to be behind the tragedy, the exact reason is yet to be determined. This is the first time Qatari waters are witnessing such a tragedy in the recent past.
