RIYADH: Mahd Sports Academy will on Saturday hold a virtual press conference to lay out its long-term vision for the development of individual and team sports across all regions and cities in Saudi Arabia.
The academy was unveiled in July 2020 with a mission to oversee the development of young Saudi Arabian female and male athletes over the next decade. The establishment of the academy is seen as a national project that will also include improving sporting infrastructure and facilities, launching training centers and modern sporting facilities, and the hosting of competitions and tournaments in the Kingdom.
The presentation will discuss how the academy’s strategy will link with discovering Saudi talent at elementary schools to developing them.
It will also focus on the first generation of the athletes overseen by the academy.
