Dus pas nadat de dakconstructie was gerepareerd kon worden begonnen met de aanpassing van de rest van het stadion.

Nu was het ideaal plaatje voor de kerst van 2015 maar ook dit is niet gehaald. Met als gevolg dat de regenval, die normaliter in December en Januari het grootst is nu ook in Februari heftig was, opnieuw vertraging oplevert.

Nu begin Maart is het duidelijk dat pas in April de Braziliaanse variant van Mondo gelegd gaat worden. Zodat de geplande test met de Ibero-American Games tweede weekend van Mei, alles klaar is.

Dat de lokale atletiekclubs al drie jaar geen gebruik kunnen maken van de accommodatie is niet belangrijk in dit geheel. Na De Spelen is het gewoon weer het domein van Botafogo.

"These things are often done at the last minute, the same thing happened with the Pan American games at the same stadium (in 2007). There were lots of problems but it was done in time.
