The Upper Criminal Court has convicted a man and a woman of adultery and sentenced them to one year’s suspended imprisonment and immediate deportation.
The two were arrested trying to flee police on night patrol, who had approached their vehicle to investigate after seeing it parked in a deserted area. The police found both the occupants in the buff. The officers suspected they had indulged in an illicit act.
During interrogation, the man said he had come to know the woman through common friends. They were out together for the first time that night.
