yesterday the first day of competition in the Gymnasiade. talking with carlos, the middle distance coach for Aspire, he revealed he was participating in the first one in Florence 1974 competing for Brazil. Funny that years later you are in Qatar watching athletics and don't know any (ok only 2) coaches. the schoolsports looks a different world. still there were some good results. it was a good start for Qatar and also Aspire to have a gold on the first day. ran into jamal who introduced me to Jama the coach of Kaki who is now the national coach for middle distance with the QAAF. And........... saw good old Freddy in the vip seats.
