An acrobatic show at the opening of Doha Gymnasiade 2009. The opening ceremony, held at the Aspire Dome, included fine set pieces performed by leading artistes, a choreographed athlete parade and the premiere of Doha Gymnasiade 2009’s official video. The opening ceremony began by verses of holy Quran followed by the Qatar national anthem. The ceremony witnessed series of attractive cultural and artistic programs, entertainment shows; parade of participating countries alongside folkloric performances reflected the history of the hosts, Qatar.

The ceremony was attended by athletes and delegates from 42 participating countries. A total of 20 events are scheduled to take place today, including finals for five events.
