Motorists had a hard time early morning yesterday as a thick fog blanketed the city and its outskirts reducing visibility below 100 metres.
However, chilly days are ahead after the humid and foggy weather that the country experienced yesterday, say sources from the Meteorology Department. Mercury is expected to dip again from today with chances of another cold spell that would prevail until Monday. A cloudy and dusty weather would prevail today with chances of scattered rain.
“Yesterday’s heavy fog was caused by the humid weather. Visibility in the early morning was below 100 metres. Tomorrow will be slightly foggy in the morning. The expected visibility is 200 metres,” a forecaster from the Met Office told The Peninsula last evening. The wind direction would change from today afternoon and the country would experience chilly weather from tomorrow until Monday.
