Rekken in zit, ogekeerde hordenzit, rekken quadriceps. lopen achterlijn middenlijn; vw/ zw, aw, huppel vw, skipping, sprinten vw, sprinten aw. Ok, we maken twee groepen: rijtje lopen, lay-up bounce pass, lay up met dribbel, lay up uit rondpassen en dn nog even vrijeworpen en vanaf de circel schieten. Prima we kunnen beginnen.
Geweldig om te zien. Zo lang, groot en massief en toch atletisch.
Een prachtige atleet. Volgende week nog een keer kijken.
China, Qatar register victoriesPublished: Saturday, 10 September, 2005, 08:51 AM Doha Time

Defending champions China produced a display of finesse and fluency to record a convincing 76-58 win over Chinese Taipei in the 23rd Fiba Asia Championship for Men at the Al Gharafa Club sports complex here yesterday. It was China’s second straight victory after their opening day’s win over Iran.
Hosts Qatar too notched up their second success cruising past Indonesia 76-58, after their opening victory over Japan.
China clearly the superior team in the competition stamped their authority in their game against Taipei showing fine organization, slick passing along with accuracy in shooting to overpower their opposition.
Houston Rockets’ centre Yao Ming was sparingly used by Lithuanian coach Jonas Kazlauska but he left his mark playing a leading role picking up 15 points and eight rebounds. Ming thus served notice that he is indeed a rare breed in the Asian continent. Ming was taken off in the second quarter and came back only in the third quarter but his brief presence was sufficient for him to be his team’s highest scorer. Zhu Fangyu (13), Liu Wei (11) and Li Nan (10) were the others to impress.
Fangyu also had three three-pointers to his credit. Wang Shipeng and Li Nan had two three-pointers apiece for the victors.
The Chinese team controlled the offensive rebounds well and mostly concentrated on dribbling past the rival defenders and finishing the move with layups.
Taipei struggled to combine as a unit and their Passing, left much to be desired. The team were often reduced to shooting from a distance with modest results but they improved on their scoring skills in Ming’s absence.
Taipei also owed their improved scoreline due to the Chinese coach’s gesture of testing his players’ bench strength.
China coach Kazlauska was satisfied with his team’s performance. “My aim was to rotate the players to test my bench strength so Ming was only sparingly used,” he said.
“We are preparing for the future and so we tried new tactics and players. We could have won by a bigger margin with the regulars but it will not help the team’s cause if the youngsters do not get the exposure.”
Chinese Taipei coach Li Yun-Kung said his team ended up on the losing side due to poor marksmanship. “Our shooting skills were not in order and so we could not give a good fight,” he said.
Earlier, China ran up a comfortable lead at 17-9 and later continued their dominance into the second quarter too at 30-18 before going into the interval with a 45-31 lead.
On resumption, China availed of a mixture of fast breakpoints and steady shooting to eventually win at 76-58. For Taipei, W Tai-Hao starred with 10 points.
In Qatar’s match against Indonesia, the hosts overcame their opposition with their superior quality passing and dribbling instincts. The Qatar players were successful in repeatedly prising open the porous Indonesian defence to score points with regularity.
For Qatar, Erfan Ali Saeed and Ali Turki Ali with 15 and 14 points respectively were the top-scorers. Yasseen Ismail Musa (13) and Mohammed Abdulla (12) also excelled.
M Wuysang (16) and F J Achmad (12) were the leading scorers for Indonesia. At half-time, Qatar led 52-34.
Qatar’s American coach Joseph Stiebing hoped that his team would continue to improve on their performances.
“The strategy was to give lots of players exposure and overall we hope to play better.”
“We need to improve on our scoring prowess and also need to limit our turnovers,” he added.
Asked about Kazakhstan, the team’s opponent today, he said that he rated the team highly. “They played well against Japan and I expect a tough game,” he said.
Indonesian coach Rastafari Horongbala said his team was focusing on the future. “Our team is in a rebuilding phase and we hope to play better in the coming future,” he said and complimented Qatar’s defence for the fine show.
In other matches of the day, Japan edged a fighting Kazakhstan 67-66, Korea got the better of Kuwait 85-80 and Saudi Arabia defeated Malaysia 79-51.
