en dus ook voor verschillende doeleinden.

regelmatig zie je iemand met een bidmatje lopen.
ook bij een picknick in het park of woestijn wordt er een matje uitgerold.
dit kan een behoorlijk tapijt zijn van soms wel drie bij drie ofzo.

sinds onze trip naar india hebben we ook twee matjes/tapijtjes.

keurig aan de muur!

Doha • Qatar's interest in Islamic art is bringing an increasing number of artists and collectors to the country, Dr Hadi Y Maktabi (pictured), lecturer at the American University of Beirut, said at a press conference here yesterday.

"Qatar has now become the focal point of those interested in Islamic art due to increase in conferences and universities offering courses on Islamic art here. Moreover, the Islamic Museum, which will open by the end of this year, has also raised interest in the subject among the people," said Dr Hadi, who hails from the Maktabi family, the oldest dealers of antique carpets in the Middle East.

An exhibition of some 300 rare oriental carpets from the private collection of the family will open at Al Sharq Village and Spa today. It will be the largest exhibition held by the Lebanon-based family till date and will include lectures by distinguished guests.
