toilet op corniche

CLEVERLY concealed under a lush green lawn, a modern public toilet is fast nearing completion on the Corniche, near the Orry statue.
The facility would be a welcome relief for those coming to this area of the Corniche, which does not have any public toilets.
The structure is not visible from the road as all one would see is the lawn, the railings around the entrance and a portion of the lift cage.
Only when one approaches the entrance, located between the two halves of the lawn that it becomes clear that there is a pair of semi-circular flight of steps descending from ground level.
The lift is intended for individuals with physical incapability. One half of the public toilet is set apart for men and the other for women.
Work is in the final stages inside. Sanitary equipment is being installed. Though no official word could be obtained about the opening of the facility, the work status gives the impression that it should be ready in a few weeks.
A resident, who frequents the Corniche, welcomed the new public toilet while observing that more such facilities are required on the other stretches of the Corniche
