IN a bid to educate children about the Olympic Games and adhering to its commitment to promote active lifestyles, McDonald’s Qatar recently launched ‘Champion Kids Programme’ at its Suhaim bin Hamad branch.
The programme, running until May 5, will realise the dream of two children from Qatar, in the age group 6-14 to win a four-day trip to Beijing, which is hosting the 2008 Olympic Games.
Commenting on the launch of the programme, managing director of McDonald’s Qatar, said, “Our social responsibility and commitment towards the well-being of our children in Qatar will lead us to initiate unique programmes that can effectively influence and encourage them to adopt active lifestyles. The programme coincides with this vision and possesses a strong potential to achieve the objectives through offering a lifetime opportunity that will engrave joyful memories in our children’s minds and divert their thinking towards healthy practices.”
The programme’s leaflets with information about the Olympic committees and Arab achievements in the Olympic Games will be available at all McDonald’s stores across Qatar. The leaflets will also include a detachable section with a quiz about the same information and a space to fill in the children’s names and contact details.
Children will have to answer the questions and drop them at any McDonald’s restaurant in Qatar. The names with correct answers will be entered for a draw to determine the winners.
