Queen Beatrix of the Netherlands received at Huis Ten Bosch Palace yesterday Qatar's Prime Minister and Foreign Minister HE Sheikh Hamad bin Jassim bin Jabor al-Thani, who is on an official visit to the Netherlands. At the meeting, the Qatari premier and foreign minister conveyed to the Dutch Queen the greetings of HH the Emir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa al-Thani and HH the Heir Apparent Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani wishing her the best of health and happiness and wishing the Dutch people further progress and growth.
For her part, the Dutch Queen asked HE the prime minister and foreign minister to convey her greetings to HH the Emir and HH the Heir Apparent wishing them the best of health and happiness and wishing the Qatari people further progress and prosperity.
The friendly and multifaceted relations between the two countries were reviewed during the meeting with a view to further broaden and deepen them.
The meeting was attended by Qatar's Finance Minister and acting Minister of Economy and Trade HE Yousuf Hussein Kamal, Qatar Chamber of Commerce and Industry chairman HE Sheikh Khalifa bin Jassem al-Thani and members of the official delegation accompanying HE the premier and foreign minister.
HE Sheikh Jabor al-Thani also met the Royal Dutch Shell chief executive officer, Jeroen van der Veer.
They discussed scopes of economic and investment co-operation in energy and gas and ways of boosting them yet further.
The meeting was attended by HE Hussein Kamal and members of the official delegation.
On Shell's part, the meeting was attended by Shell executive director (gas and power) Linda Cook, and country chairman of Shell Qatar, Andy Brown.
HE Sheikh Jabor al-Thani also met senior Dutch businessmen and discussed with them scopes of co-operation and investment in various spheres and ways to further develop them.
The meeting was also attended by HE Hussein Kamal, the chairman of Qatar Chamber of Commerce and Industry and members of the official delegation.
HE Sheikh Jabor al-Thani and his accompanying delegation left the Hague yesterday for Qatar.
HE the Prime Minister and Foreign Minister was seen off at Rotterdam airport by Qatar ambassador to the Netherlands HE Saleh Abdullah al-Buainain, the Dutch ambassador to Qatar Johannes Gerardus van Vloten and senior Dutch Foreign Ministry officials. – QNA
