QATAR Airways is implementing a number of initiatives under the leadership of chief executive officer Akbar al-Baker to support the National Day celebrations.
The airline staff will be handing out Qatari flags to its passengers travelling through Doha International Airport tomorrow.
Boarding passes will be stamped with a special National Day celebration symbol, while a link to the Qatar National Day website on qatarairways.com and an editorial in the airline’s December in-flight magazine highlight the occasion to a global audience.
The latest edition of the magazine features an article on Sheikh Jassim bin Mohamed al-Thani, who assumed leadership over Qatar on December 18, 1878, and is considered the founding father of the state.
Al-Baker emphasised the airline’s commitment to carry the story of Qatar around the world: “Qatar Airways proudly represents the State of Qatar in over 80 destinations. The airline is one of the leading lights in marketing Qatar globally and we are extremely dedicated and proud to promote this country and its history with our award-winning five-star service,” he said.
Special holiday packages are on offer from Qatar Airways Holidays – the tour-operating arm of Qatar Airways – in celebration of the festive season and coinciding with the National Day holiday.
Packages include family vacations, romantic getaways, sun and sand beach escapes or culture and shopping city breaks, taking advantage of Qatar Airways’ extensive network
