Qatar received isolated rains accompanied by a thunderstorm yesterday. Several parts of Doha, including the Corniche, the Airport area and West Bay, saw intermittent drizzles that lasted less than ten minutes.
The roads in West Bay turned wet in the afternoon, forcing motorists to slow down.
The meteorological department yesterday forecast chances of thundershowers today. The maximum temperature will be 24 degrees Celsius across Qatar, with the mercury falling to 13-16 degrees Celsius at times.
The weatherman said the northwesterly wind will blow at a speed of five to 15 knots (9-27 kmph), reaching 20-30 knots (37-55 kmph) during a thunderstorm.
The offshore areas experienced a thunderstorm and moderate rains yesterday and on Thursday.
Qatar recorded a maximum temperature of 26 degrees Celsius yesterday. The minimum temperature was 17 degrees Celsius. Messaieed experienced the lowest temperature yesterday of 13 degrees Celsius. Dukhan and Al Khor recorded 14 and 15 degrees, respectively.
