Doha, February 06, 2009 – The Qatar Olympic Committee extended condolences towards the Comite Olympique et Interfederal Belge (Belgium Olympic Committee) on the death of Belgian cyclist Frederiek Nolf who died at the hotel room Thursday morning.
The 21-year-old was a member of the Topsport Vlaanderen-Mercator team, which has now pulled out of the Tour of Qatar event.
HE Sheikh Saoud Bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, the secretary general of the QOC sent cables of condolences to the deceased family, the Ambassador of Belgium Embassy to Qatar and the participating Belgian cyclist at a gathering held at the Qatar Cycling Federation.
Mr. Abdulrahman Mosallam Al Dosari, the manager of public relations and marketing department of QOC also accompanied the secretary general to the QCF headquarters.
