Doha • The ratio of males to females in Qatar is three to one as 75.7 percent of the population is male and only 24.3 percent is female.
The population of males increased by an estimated 19 percent from last year, whereas that of females increased by 15 percent, says a study.
The latest figures released by the National Statistics Authority put Qatar's population at 1,448,446.
A study conducted by the Permanent Population Council stated that the imbalanced distribution of population between the two genders was the outcome of immigration of a male workforce. The study, however, said that the population of citizens is fairly distributed between the two genders.
