A MAJOR power failure hit several parts of Doha and suburbs yesterday leaving residents in extremely hot conditions.
The outage occurred around 3.15 in the afternoon and power was restored in most areas in one and a half hours.
The Qatar General Electricity and Water Corporation in a statement attributed the outage to some faults in one of the turbines at a major power generation facility. It was caused due to problems arising out of a defect in the gas supplies to the turbine.
