Doha • Youths dancing and listening to music until late in the night at entertainment tents set up as part of Ramadan observance is angering devout Muslims. They say the practice is against the teachings of Islam and the spirit of Ramadan. “This is a new trend which we are witnessing for the past few years. Earlier, people used to remain awake the whole night during Ramadan to pray. Things are changing now,” an Arabic daily quoted a national as saying.
The daily, in a special Ramadan supplement, said a lot of people have expressed anger over what goes on in the entertainment tents all through the night. People remaining awake the whole night for entertainment in a month when they are supposed to pray and worship and ask Allah for forgiveness for their sins, is something unacceptable
