Eid Al Fitr holidays

DOHA: The Minister of Civil Service Affairs and Housing H E Sheikh Falah bin Jassem bin Jabor Al Thani yesterday issued a circular according to which the Eid Al Fitr holidays will begin one day before the Eid in addition to four days to be added after the Eid holidays. Accordingly the Eid holidays will begin on Wednesday — 30 Ramadan 1426 ah — corresponding to November 2, 2005, and ends on Thursday November 10, 2005. The Circular No 8 of 2005 said the holidays will not be affected by the sighting of the crescent moon and even if it has been proven that the month of Ramadan will not be completed, the date of the holidays beginning will remain unchanged and it will end on Wednesday (9.11. 2005). As Thursday will fall between two holidays it will be considered a holiday according to Article 58 of the Civil Service Code. The circular explained that in both cases employees will return to work on Sunday, November 13, 2005.
