afgesproken met wat aspire-aussies gisteravond om naar QAT-AUS te kijken.
bij de ingang zien we dat we kaartjes moeten kopen (huh) en zien de aankondiging (australian fans, hahaha) en de prijs (what! ridiculous)250QR. ik verlaat de mannen in het green and gold en loop brutaal naar de vip ingang. sorry sir. nou dan maar naar de andere kant naar de Qatari fans. geen enkel verkooppunt open en toegang GRATIS. op de tribune worden vlaggetjes en sjaaltjes uitgedeeld (gratis) alleen de catering is slecht verzorgd. Qatar houdt het speelveld klein en is sterker in de eerste 20' van de eerste helft. toch komen er kansen voor de mannen van pim verbeek. helaas geen score. in mijn eentje ver weg van de rest en in de klamme hitte besluit ik de tweede helft maar thuis voor de tv te kijken.

Qatar produced an improved display against Australia yesterday but failed to secure three points they desperately needed from their Group A qualifying clash for next year’s World Cup in South Africa.
Last evening’s goalless draw at the Sheikh Jassim Stadium was still good enough for Australia to qualify for their third finals of football’s premier tournament since 1974. Australia and Japan, who won 1-0 in Uzbekistan, are level on 14 points but the former have a superior goal difference.
Qatar still have a mathematical chance for a third place finish should they win their next game away to Japan on Wednesday and Bahrain, currently third with seven points, lose their both matches.
The top two teams qualify for the finals, while the third-placed side face a play-off against the third team in Group B with the winners of that clash taking on New Zealand.
